MOLABO Safe Low-Voltage Drives

High-Power 50 kW Propulsion at Touchable 48 Volts

Overview

MOLABO SAFE LOW-VOLTAGE DRIVES

MOLABO specializes in the development and production of high-performance electric drive systems operating at a safe-to-touch 48-volt low voltage. Founded in Weßling/Munich, Germany, MOLABO is the pioneer of Intelligent Stator Cage Drive (ISCAD) technology, delivering high power without requiring specialized high-voltage training, certifications, or hazardous safety equipment.

Our flagship drive system, the ARIES 50, provides 50 kW of peak power (roughly equivalent to an 80 HP combustion engine). Now backed by Hechinger Group, MOLABO is a leading innovator in sustainable marine mobility, winning multiple prestigious awards including the Electric & Hybrid Marine Award for 'New Propulsion Technology of the Year' in 2023 and 2024.

The MOLABO ISCAD Advantage includes:
  • Touchable 48V low voltage for safe installation & maintenance
  • High power output of 50 kW continuous/peak for planing speeds
  • Complete system integration without complex high-voltage yards
  • Pre-engineered modular design with Hechinger industrial quality

Inboard Motors

MOLABO Aries i50 Inboard (50 kW)

The MOLABO ARIES i50 is a 50 kW electric inboard boat motor system developed in Germany. It is distinguished by being the world's most powerful 48 V low-voltage electric drive, which makes it "safe-to-touch" and significantly easier to install compared to high-voltage systems because it does not require specialized high-voltage certification. The ARIES i50 is designed for fast planing in motorboats up to 12 m (40 ft) or displacement cruising in sailboats up to 15 m (50 ft).

Key Features
  • World's most powerful 48 V low-voltage electric drive system
  • Touch-safe low-voltage architecture requires no high-voltage certification
  • Compact Design: Controller integrated directly inside the motor to save space
  • Low Maintenance: Approximately 4,000-hour service cycle with low operating costs
  • Quiet and low-vibration alternative to traditional diesel inboards
Inboard Motors

MOLABO Aries i30 Inboard (30 kW)

The Molabo ARIES i30 is a high-performance, 30 kW electric inboard propulsion system designed for marine use. It is specifically engineered for motorboats up to 8 metres (26 ft) and displacement vessels up to 10 metres (33 ft). The system utilizes Molabo's patented ISCAD (Intelligent Stator Cage Drive) technology, which allows it to deliver high power while maintaining a touch-safe 48 V low-voltage architecture.

Key Features
  • Continuous Power: 30 kW (peak performance up to 40 kW depending on batteries)
  • Nominal Torque: 107 Nm, providing powerful acceleration from standstill
  • System Efficiency: High overall system efficiency of 94%
  • Weight: Extremely compact, weighing approximately 44 kg (including integrated controller)
  • Protection Class: Rated IP67 for demanding marine environments
